Sharp, stylish and dynamic — Jazz builds technique, flexibility and confident performance.

What Is Jazz Dance?

Jazz is a high-energy style blending classical technique with modern, commercial influences. It focuses on clean lines, sharp dynamics, turns, kicks and leaps — perfect for children who love upbeat music and performance. At Artists in Motion, we teach safe, progressive technique with age-appropriate choreography that’s exciting and expressive.

Jazz – Frequently Asked Questions

Is Ballet required for Jazz?

Helpful but not essential. Ballet supports technique, but we teach Jazz foundations progressively for all levels.

What should my child wear?

Comfortable fitted dancewear allowing full movement, jazz shoes (or soft trainers for beginners), hair tied back and water.

How is Jazz different from Modern?

Jazz is sharper and more dynamic with kicks/turns/leaps and commercial influence. Modern is more fluid and grounded with breadth from Ballet and contemporary technique — both complement each other.

Do you offer trial classes?
