A place to begin

A little encouragement can be the beginning of something wonderful

Our children’s musical theatre classes bring singing, dancing and acting together in a friendly, encouraging environment at AIM Studios in Aylesham, Kent. They are designed for children who would benefit from building their confidence and skills before taking part in Theatre School productions.

Your child might love the idea of performing but need time to feel comfortable in a group. Perhaps they enjoy singing and dancing, yet the thought of a full production still feels like a big step.

Musical Theatre gives them a starting point. Through shared activities, songs, movement and character work, children can become more comfortable expressing themselves and trying something new.

Part of the AIM family

Confidence, creativity, friendship and fun

At AIM, we want children to feel that they belong.

Our Musical Theatre lessons reflect that through encouragement, shared experiences and the chance to explore ideas with others. We value the willingness to have a go, the kindness of supporting a classmate and the enjoyment of discovering something new.

Children bring different personalities and different starting points. We make room for that, helping them develop their skills while feeling valued for who they are.

There is plenty to enjoy along the way, from a favourite song to a new friendship or a moment of unexpected confidence.

A little reassurance

Questions parents often ask

Does my child need experience?

No. Our musical theatre classes for beginners introduce singing, dancing and acting while helping children build confidence through practice. Your child can start without previous experience.

My child is shy. Could they enjoy these lessons?

Yes, these lessons are intended to support children who need time to build confidence before moving towards productions. Let us know how your child feels about joining so we can discuss their starting point with you.

Are Musical Theatre lessons the same as Theatre School?

They have different focuses. Musical Theatre lessons build skills and confidence towards being ready for productions. Theatre School gives students the opportunity to put those skills into practice through rehearsals and two productions each year.

Does joining Musical Theatre mean joining a production?

Joining these lessons is a step towards building confidence, rather than signing up for a Theatre School production. If your child becomes interested in taking part, our team can explain joining Theatre School.

What ages are the classes for?

We offer musical theatre classes for 4 to 6 year olds in our Mini group, for 7 to 10 year olds in our Junior group, and for children aged 11 and over in our Inter and Senior group. Our team can advise on the most suitable group for your child.

Where do lessons take place?
