Our early years dance classes give little ones space to explore, copy simple movements and enjoy being part of a group. Through music and imaginative play, they begin to build balance, coordination and confidence.

My First Ballet Class
A gentle introduction to ballet for children aged 18 months to 3 years. Each session brings together ballet-inspired movement, classical music, rhythm and imaginative play in a friendly setting.
Children do not need dance experience. The aim at this stage is to enjoy movement and develop early physical and social skills, with parents or carers nearby to help them feel settled.

Tell us your child’s age and that you are interested in My First Ballet Class. Our team will help with availability and the two-week paid trial.
Come in comfortable clothes
Leggings or joggers and a comfortable top are ideal, with soft indoor shoes. You do not need to buy the uniform before trying the class.
Settle in at your child’s pace
Let the teacher know if your child feels nervous or needs extra reassurance. We work with families to help children feel welcome and supported.

How your payment works
Tuition is based on 39 teaching weeks across the year, with the annual cost spread over 12 equal monthly payments. This keeps the monthly amount consistent, even when the number of classes in a calendar month varies.
For My First Ballet Class, the current monthly tuition shown on this page is £21.50. The two-week paid trial is your opportunity to see how your child settles before enrolling.

Our current joining information lists a one-time £20 enrolment fee and a free AIM starter kit. The admin team will confirm all applicable costs and payment arrangements before you commit.
You can also ask about the right uniform and when to order it. There is time to make sure your child is settled before purchasing their dancewear.

What age can my child start?
My First Ballet Class is for children aged 18 months to 3 years. For children aged 3 to 4, explore our preschool dance classes, or ask the team which class would be the best starting point.
Can I stay with my child?
These early years sessions are described as a shared experience with a parent or carer nearby. When you enquire, tell us about any support your child may need so the teacher can explain how attendance and settling in will work for your family.
What if my child feels shy?
Starting something new can feel like a big step. Tell the teacher if your child is nervous. AIM works with families to support individual needs, and the two-week trial gives your child time to become familiar with the class.
What should my child wear to their trial?
Comfortable clothing, such as leggings or joggers and a top, with soft indoor shoes such as plimsolls or trainers. Keep hair comfortably secured away from their face. Ask the team if you are unsure about footwear.
How does the two-week trial work?
The paid trial runs for two weeks, giving your child time to get to know the teacher, routine and other children before you decide about enrolment. AIM does not offer a free trial. The admin team can confirm the total trial price and available dates.
Do we need to buy uniform straight away?
No, uniform is not required straight away for new students. AIM’s current guidance asks families to purchase it within their first term, around six weeks after starting. Check the timing with the team when you enrol. Uniform is available through the AIM online shop.
How are classes paid for?
Classes are paid by monthly direct debit. Annual tuition covers 39 teaching weeks and is spread across 12 equal monthly payments. The current terms state one month in hand; the team will explain the payment schedule and joining costs before enrolment.
Where are the classes held?
At AIM Studios, Intex House, Cooting Road, Aylesham, CT3 3EP, near Canterbury in Kent. My First Ballet Class currently runs on Thursdays from 10:00am to 10:45am.
