Private singing lessons are shaped around the pupil, not a one-size-fits-all routine. The aim is to develop a healthy, confident voice while keeping singing enjoyable, expressive and suited to the performer's age.
Build strong foundations
Lessons can include breathing, posture, vocal warm-ups, pitch, tone, diction and controlled development of range. Pupils learn how to use their voice effectively without being encouraged to force volume or imitate somebody else's sound.

Young performers explore phrasing, dynamics, character and emotional connection so their performance communicates something meaningful to an audience.

Material can be selected around the pupil's voice, experience and interests, including appropriate musical theatre and contemporary repertoire.

LAMDA tuition explained
Confidence, communication and performance with a clear pathway
LAMDA is the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art. Its examinations give learners a structured way to develop and demonstrate skills in performance and communication. At AIM, tuition can be matched to the most suitable route for the individual pupil.

Musical Theatre

AIM Studios
Intex House, Cooting Road, Aylesham, CT3 3EP, approximately 15 minutes from Canterbury and 20 minutes from Dover.
Tuition fees, teacher availability and any examination entry fees will be confirmed during the enquiry process. Examination entry is optional unless a specific programme is agreed with the parent or guardian.

Does my child need previous singing or acting experience?
No. Tuition can be adapted for complete beginners as well as experienced young performers. The important starting point is understanding what your child enjoys and what they would like help with.
What is the difference between private singing and LAMDA tuition?
Private singing focuses primarily on vocal technique, repertoire, expression and singing confidence. LAMDA tuition follows a performance or communication pathway such as Acting, Musical Theatre or Speaking Verse and Prose, often with the option to work towards an examination.
Does my child have to take a LAMDA examination?
No. An examination can provide useful structure and a recognised goal, but the training can also be used to build confidence, communication and performance skills without sitting an exam.
How long is each lesson?
