Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a studio?
Bookings are handled through the AIM Studio Booking Platform:
  1. Register or sign in to your account.
  2. Check live availability for Fosse, Bourne, Garland or Astaire (see sizes & flooring).
  3. Select your date/time and choose Regular or Ad-hoc hire.
  4. Submit your booking request with activity type, headcount and any extras (chairs/tables, etc.).
  5. Your request is logged on our system and you’ll receive an on-screen/emailed reference.
  6. A member of the team will contact you to confirm details, share access info and issue an invoice.
  7. Payment secures the slot. Regular hirers are invoiced monthly; ad-hoc hires are due on confirmation.

If you need help choosing a studio, tell us your activity and numbers and we’ll recommend the best space.

What’s the difference between Regular and Ad-hoc hire fees?
Regular hire is a weekly/recurring slot at a reduced rate. Ad-hoc hire is one-off or occasional bookings at the standard rate. See the table above for prices per studio.
What’s the minimum booking length and how is setup time handled?
Bookings are made in 60-minute blocks (minimum 1 hour), but our system automatically adds a 15-minute setup period before and a 15-minute pack-down after each booking.

That means a 60-minute session will appear in the calendar as a 90-minute slot, giving you time to arrive, set up and clear away without affecting the next hirer.

There’s no need to add this extra time manually — it’s already included in the hire charge.
What’s included with the studio hire?
All studios include quality flooring (sprung or hardwood as shown), Bluetooth/aux sound system, heating/lighting and access to toilets and changing rooms. A parents’ waiting area is available. Chairs and tables can be provided on request.
Which studios have sprung flooring and which have hardwood?
Fosse and Bourne have sprung flooring — ideal for dance and impact work. Garland and Astaire have hardwood flooring — suitable for tap and multi-use. See the table for dimensions (e.g., Fosse 40ft × 20ft).
Can we use tap shoes or heels?
Tap and hard-soled heels are permitted only in the hardwood studios (Garland, Astaire). No taps or high heels on sprung floors (Fosse, Bourne). Please use toe guards where appropriate and avoid anything that could mark the surface.
Is parking available and how do we access the studios?
Yes — there is free on-site parking. Arrival instructions and access details are sent with your booking confirmation. Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your slot to avoid congestion.
Do prices include VAT and how do we pay?
Prices shown are + VAT. We’ll issue an invoice; payment can be made by card or bank transfer. Regular hirers are invoiced monthly in advance; ad-hoc hires are due on confirmation.
What is your cancellation policy?
For ad-hoc bookings, please give at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid being charged. For regular/recurring bookings, 30 days’ notice is customary for changes or termination. If you need different terms, let us know when booking.
Do I need insurance or a DBS check to run a class/event?
For classes, workshops or parties you host, the lead hirer must hold appropriate Public Liability Insurance. Where activities involve under-18s, ensure your staff hold suitable safeguarding credentials/DBS checks and collect parental consent where required.
Can we serve food or drink in the studios?
Water only in studios, please. Food and other drinks should be kept to the waiting area or a separately hired space. Please remove all rubbish and leave the studio as you found it.
Can we film or photograph our session?
Yes for your own participants. Please obtain consent for anyone identifiable, avoid filming other hirers, and keep noise at a considerate level. Commercial filming must be agreed in advance.
Accessibility and special requirements
If you or your participants have access needs, please tell us when booking so we can allocate the most suitable studio and entrance route. We’ll do our best to accommodate equipment, mobility aids and quiet-space requests.
Typical capacities by studio (guideline only)
Capacities depend on activity and spacing. As a comfort guideline for dance: Fosse (40×20ft) ~ up to 25–30; Bourne (27×23ft) ~ up to 18–22; Garland (15×32ft) ~ up to 12–16; Astaire (28×14ft) ~ up to 10–12. For static rehearsals/meetings the numbers may be higher. Tell us your plan and we’ll advise.
