My daughter takes part in two classes at AIM, Musical Theatre and Street Dance and she loves them both equally. She can't wait to show us what she has learned after each session and it's lovely to see her confidence grow each week. The lessons are fun and engaging and the teachers are friendly and approachable as well as being highly skilled and professional. My daughter is extremely happy here and a happy child makes for a happy mum. I highly recommend AIM.

Lisa and her lovely team are the most amazing dance school, giving children that live in the countryside and surrounding towns a chance to shine at all different dance styles. My daughter has been going to ballet class since she was two and love her dance family that she has come to know in the studio and on zoom sessions. She has learnt to share, take turns, rhythm beats/count and have fun with her friends. We can’t wait for her to grow in her dance knowledge with Artist in motion school of dance.

The timetable is reviewed across the year with after school and weekend options. If you have more than one child in Littlebourne, the team will usually try to place siblings in classes that sit close together in the schedule so you are not stuck at the studios all evening.

Why Littlebourne families choose Artists In Motion

If you are going to leave the village to travel to a dance school, it needs to feel worth the time and fuel. Littlebourne parents who commit to the journey are usually looking for three things, a kind environment, proper training and clear communication.

At AIM you will find

  • Small class sizes where teachers actually know each child
  • Qualified, experienced staff who understand safe technique and child development
  • A clear structure of grades and levels so you can see progress over time
  • Regular performance opportunities for children who enjoy being on stage
  • Strong studio values around kindness, respect and supporting one another

The school has a firm stance on bullying and unkind behaviour. If there are friendship issues, staff step in quickly and calmly so that students from Littlebourne and other areas can concentrate on their dancing rather than worrying about what others will say.

For a lot of parents the pattern looks like this, collect from school, quick snack in the car, straight to class, then back to Littlebourne in good time for evening routines. Adults who train with us often arrive after work, take class as their reset time, then head home feeling clearer and more energised.

There is parking outside or close to the building, which keeps drop off and pick up straightforward, even on the busier nights of the week.

Exams, shows and performance opportunities for Littlebourne dancers

If your child wants to take exams or loves the idea of being on stage, AIM can support that. When students are ready, they can work towards recognised graded exams that build focus and give a clear sense of achievement.

Across the year the school also runs

Not every Littlebourne child wants the pressure of exams or big shows. Some just want a weekly class that makes them feel stronger, happier and more confident. Both paths are completely valid. Teachers will always help you decide what fits your child and your family commitments.

Support for nervous beginners from Littlebourne

Some children run into the studio without looking back, others cling to your leg and are not sure they can even walk through the door. Both are normal.

The AIM team is used to welcoming complete beginners, including children who have only ever danced at home or in a basic school club in Littlebourne. To make the first lesson easier, staff will

  • Greet your child by name and speak to them directly
  • Explain clearly what will happen in class
  • Pair them with friendly classmates so they are not standing alone
  • Encourage them without putting them under a spotlight

If it helps, you can usually wait close by during their first visit, depending on the class and age group. The aim is simple, your child walks out feeling proud that they tried something new and able to imagine themselves coming back next week.

Trials, fees and uniforms for Littlebourne families

If you are not sure which class is right or whether your child will enjoy dance, a paid trial is the best place to start.

A trial gives you

  • A low cost way to reserve a place in a suitable class
  • A chance to see how your child responds to the teacher and the group
  • Honest feedback on level, style and next steps

Ongoing fees are set out as clear monthly payments. There are no surprise extras buried in complicated wording. Uniform is introduced gradually. Littlebourne families can start with simple, comfortable clothing and soft shoes, then move to full AIM uniform once their child is settled and keen to continue. The online uniform shop makes it easy to order the correct items without guessing at brands or colours.
